Maintenance occupies a particular space in the terms of architecture and it is something that comes after design and construction drawings. Maintenance exists after building, between acts of building and preservation, and after preservation and restoration.
Fiberglass is the main material used for the project. Main characteristics are translucency, lightweight, and hardness. Fiberglass panels are easy to maintain, as they do not require special cleaning products. Fiberglass panels are light, so the method to maintain them is to take them off and put them into dishwasher.
Through maintenance it allows us to make our homes our own and in the project Acceptance of light is achieved by acceptance of the aging of the building. Right after the construction, the facade structure looks clean and simple. After a while some panels will be removed for maintenance reasons. And after a significant amount of time, some of the panels are going to be missing, some will get dirty and some will be cleaned, straight out of the dishwasher. All this leads to the main idea - apartment owners can design their own facade by taking off some panels. This method of the construction of the facade predicts the way how it would be aging through time. The main goal of the project is to make maintenance a center of the development of the building.
The program for the 2nd floor is workshops. There are wooden, ceramic, and all-use workshops as well as a conference hall and gym for public use. The workshops through the rotating panels are open and integrated with the inner courtyard. The concept for the living floors is layering - each apartment has the main room with heating, the surrounding space is heated by this room and there is also a self-heated space such as a kitchen. The final layer is the winter gardens that are open to all residents of the building. Through the winter gardens and cleaning equipment room access to the maintenance, balconies are provided.
