Moabits Bibliothek - Nominated - Lars-Lerup Award 2024

Moabits Bibliothek - Moabit's Library is envisioned as a vibrant and inclusive hub designed to attract, engage, and educate the diverse population of Moabit.

Concept

By blending traditional library elements with innovative spaces and activities, the library aims to be a place of education, exploration, and community interaction. The design is focused on creating a place that's memorable, open, and fun.

Site

Moabit is an old and important district in the city of Berlin. It is mainly a residential area that is home to a big migrant community. Two important things could be observed in the site:
1- The industrial feeling of Berlichengenstr. due to the presence of the Siemens industrial zone, and specially the Turbine Hall.

2- Significant presence of nature.
