Vertical Farming: Food Production in an Urban Context | Winner – Lars-Lerup Award 2024
The project is born inside the bigger research platform NewNow, as a response to how productive spaecs can be integrated in the urban context - food in this case.
Vertical farming emerges as a pivotal component in the transformation of the urban space into productive cities, maximizing spatial efficiency and minimizing environmental impacts. It offers a solution to produce more food in a smaller footprint, utilizing resources efficiently and providing highquality organic products, aligning with the need to feed a rapidly growing global population while allowing natural environments to recover.
